Listening is the best thing that you could ever give to anybody because each has their own story to tell. - MSKZ
Whenever me and my friends meet after a long time of not seeing each other, its always like a dejavu, but with some twists. We all want to talk about something and share it to one another. Sometimes, one gets carried away by the emotions, learnings, or even hardships she gets that is why she forgets that she don’t notice that she is now the only one talking.
For a conversation to work, it must be a two-way. One must talk, the other must listen. Let’s say if person A is the first to talk, then person B should devote herself, her mind, her ears, to the one who’s talking without any other idea occupying her mind.
I have this friend who is fond of talking about her adventures in life. She talks, and talks, and talks. I always listen, nodd, and sometimes comment on the topic she’s bringing up. But through the talking she’s been doing, some ideas popped up in my mind and I get to talk but I notice that this friend of mine (sometimes) doesn’t bother to listen. It is like, all she wants is for her to talk and for the other to listen which makes it uneasy for me.
At times, I even feel like I am a boring person because no one listens.
I know that I also have some fault when it comes to focusing on what people are talking about. Daydreams are always a part of my brainmeal. But, I realized, that for me to make other people listen to what I am talking about, I must listen to them first then everything will go smoothly.
I can hear the raindrops falling on our rooftop.
I can feel the wind from the fan gushing through the room, giving a cold feeling on this cold rainy days.
I can still remember the amount of liquid my mouth had when I put some salt on my tongue about 3 hours ago.
Hmm. The smell of the beef steak cooked by my Grandma still lingers in my memory even if we ate at around 6.30 for our dinner.
