Today I got 2 interviews for a real estate company. One is from the main HR of this particular group of companies and the other is from the particular company I am applying for. So basically, the interview for the company is just under one umbrella.
This time, it’s a blossoming real estate company looking for a coywriter / media assistat to help them make a name for the land they are developing in Batulao Batangas. It’s amazing that the interview went good. The first interviewer happens to be my schoolmate in first year high school. It is indeed a very small world. And the second interviewer welcomes me with much delight, asking me to score well on the exam that will be given to me because they are looking for a copywriterfor a long time now and she’s hoping that I am the one they’ve been waiting for. Well, her reaction about my employment doesn’t seem to be much because I’m a good applicant and that I’ll be an asset to their company by the looks of my resume and how the interview went because I haven’t really proved my skills yet so I think she said that because they are already desperate to have a good copywriter. And I hope that I can live with her/their expectations.
So far, these are the companies that we’re impressed with my resume so they asked me to come over for an interview/exam but apparently, as of this moment, none of this companies were ever impressed with how the interview/exam came out so I’m still waiting for their call.
1- Offshoring - web content writer
2 - TV5 - news writer
3 - Stimula Productions - script writer
4 - Mla Times - reporter
5 - Little Angel Studio - photographer
6 - E.T.P.S. - writer
7 - ALC Group of Companies - City State Real Estate - copywriter/ media assistant
I’ve actually sent out more than 20 resumes I think, excluding the ones listed above and excluding my online applications, I’m listing the other companies I’ve given my resume into:
Media outlets: Phil. Star, Mla. Bulletin, Mla. Standard Today, Summit Media, Mega Publishing, BusinessWorld, Phil. Daily Inquirer*, ABS-CBN*
PR companies: Canon*, Samsung*
The companies marked with asterisks are the ones I applied for during the jobfair in U.S.T. It seems like my classmate’s father is true when he said that jobfairs are indeed just a promotion of the company because none ofall the companies I applied in there even called me. It’s such a waste of effort, paper and ink. Oh well.
It seems like I never really applied for many companies. I haven’t tried personally going to the other companies again, especially the media outlets. I think I should keep going, keep hoping and keep thinking that one day, I will be worthy of the job title offered to me even if it means a thousands of rejections, I won’t lose hope. These are just mere steps to finding the perfect job destined for me. Just like what Thomas Edison said “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
And again, I’m still keeping my hopes up.
After a week of spending almost nothing, I now had almost everything…on my bucket list.
When I finish my 100 list of things to do before I’m 100, I’ll post it here asap. But to give you a hint on what those things are, here’s a tip: most of it requires money since it involves adventure and travel but I also did not forgot to include some simple things that would benefit not only me, but also the people around me.
So for now, let’s just leave it to this since I’m still listing the bottom 30 of my top 100. I plan on putting it on this blog and blogging the progress of each goals.
I suggest you to do your own bucket list as well because it’s not only a goal, it is also a direction, a path to lead you on your way to a more fulfilled life.
..or about something that interests you.
These are the tips, the golden rules, that i got from attending a writing seminar four years ago. I think it’s a timeless rule that every writer should consider whenever they are writing.
Today, I got an invitation from a parenting magazine asking me to come over tomorrow for an interview for the editorial assistant (EA) position. I confirmed immediately. After several minutes, the person replied, asking me to write 2 articles related to their magazine in approximately 400 words. Right then and there, I immediately had some problems on what topics to write and the difficulty of really executing the task given to me.
Actually, I haven’t bought or read any parenting magazine yet so I really have no clue. I started googling about some topics but I feel like I might just plagiarize the contents because I don’t have an expert source to quote and that would be a violation because plagiarism is a big no-no. So that leaves me to nothing.
I think I’m getting really desperate on having a job to the point of taking anything relevant to my course. I’m feeling lonely getting left behind while most of my batchmates are busy working their ass out. I think, I can’t have this parenting magazine EA position. It just doesn’t feel right and I know that I’ll be just wasting my time if I bother. I believe I need to be experienced and have some background knowledge about something before diving in. Yeah. I think I’m gonna follow my instincts.
No, it’s not about the Roman race neither a new font name. Bildungsroman, believe it or not, is a writing style. Sounds too wordy doesn’t it? But really, beyond its wordiness is an in depth revalation about a particular writing genre.
Bildungsroman is a writing style told in the first person about the story of the lead character from childhood to adulthood. This style of writing also shows the evolution of the emotional, psychological, and social shaping of personality of the lead character.
Today, I just finished reading the chick lit Mates, Dates, and Inflatable Bras by Cathy Hopkins which I think falls under the Bildungsroman category. I had this book a few years ago but only had the time to read it now because of many inaappropriate reasons. I’m working on my reading habit now. I’m loving it more as day passes by, which I think is an excellent thing.

Going back to the book, I’m 20 but I can very much relate to the 14 year old lead character, Lucy, who is going through some hardships about friendships, romantic relationships and choosing which path to take in college. The story also teaches you on how to find and know the real you. It also has some witty comebacks. I think I’ve read this book at the right time (wherein I’m having some friend problems like Lucy) so no regrets on putting it at the bookcase several years ago because I believe that anything has a reason.
The insights (or rather, epigrams) presented in this book made me realize a few things:
If you want to have a friend, be a friend.
The darkest hour is just before the dawn.
Don’t wait for your ship to come in, swim to it.
The book is an easy read and will keep you wanting for more. If I were to request something from Hopkins, I would ask her to create a book dedicated to Lucy-Tony love story and I also want to read more about Lucy, Izzie and Nesta’s friendship, family and career development.
“More, more!” my mind tells me. It only proves to show that this book is a a very good companion at times when you’ve got nothing to do and wants to have something to take you away from the busy world.
It’s a must for me to get the rest of the series. I recommend it to anyone who wants to find her true self and to anyone who wants to read fun literature.
And yes, we have finally gone to the nearest swimming pool. For summer’s (and friendship’s) sake, we finally took a dip in the deep blue chlorine formulated pool even if the meant to be High School Reunion only ended up with the two of the most “geek” students in the class that time –Sheilla and me(yes, would you believe that? me? hahaha)
This is a photo of me inside the dual colored cottage, blue on the outide, orange on the inside. heh

I know it would be more fun if we high school friends were complete, but like I said, for the summer heat’s sake, I swam like there’s no tomorrow (even if I rarely know how to float.) Anyway, like what Horatio said to Ryan: Mr. Wolfe, at the end of the day, if we don’t hang together, we’ll die alone. So since I’ve spent the oodles of fun in the swimming pool with even just one friend, at least I’m not alone in this moment of happiness.
I’ve always dreamed of having a big library where one needs to climb a ladder in order to find and get a book. This is the kind of library I saw in the movies like Beauty and the Beast and Harry Potter. Now that I’m reviving that old dream, I am thinking of putting a bookshelf in my own room and redecorate it to have a new look.
Through some patience and determination, I managed to find a very nice photo of a bookshelf (with a touch of entertainment side) in tumblr.
This one’s very beautiful but I don’t think it would fit inside my small room but I really liked the presentation of this bookcase. Here’s another one, which I also got from bookshelves.tumblr.com:
A simple wooden bookshelf which will not eat too much space and will solve not only my book casing problems, but also the random whatnots I have in my room. If I were to put this bookcase in my room, I want it to be in white because I love the trendy traditional look which would look like this:
same room, different angle:
Don’t you just love the set up of this room? It appears to be a small room with matching white furnitures accentuated with a floral wallpaper. I love the christmas lights attached to the bookshelf / thingamajig case, very cute! The bed also makes me want to change my own bed but as much as possible, I don’t want the room makeover to be expensive so I’m still looking for more ideas.
This another photo would be a very nice look in my workplace. Very organized and messy at the same time. heh. But this one is really inspiring though. I would love to have my room patterned after this.
As of now, these are the thing’s I’m sure of: I want white furnitures, white bed (if possible), plain black/white bordered picture frames with varying sizes, and a nice and simple mirror with an accent colored frame. I’ll post some photos once this idea becomes successful.
How I wish this bookcase, which I have seen in many wonderful photos over the Internet, is available here in the Philippines. But, if there’s a will, there’s a way so I know sooner or later, I’ll resolve this problem.
I’m so excited to do the room makeover.
Today, I have taken note two of the many things to be happy about this day. One, our Balikbayan Box from my Aunt in the US has finally arrived which has my requested books on it. I now have Stephen King’s On Writing which has many good reviews online, another is The Pocket Muse by Monica Wood, this one showcases ideas ad inspiration for writing. And the last book is Bill Kovach and Tom Roseanstiel’s The Elements of Journalism. These books made me feel so excited about finishing the book that I am currently reading which is a chicklit: Mates, Dates and Inflatable Bras by Cathy Hopkins.
I can’t believe I’m getting really excited at reading. After all those years, I only remember having read the first four J.K. Rowling canons, Harry Potter. After an event that shifted my way and view of reading books, I’m now back and starting to love it, again. I reall love how things are going on right now.
Second blessing, I passed my examination in ALC group of companies and is up for an examination soon. With all the almost successful job applications I’m having, I just wish that I’ll have a job real soon because I have so many books I wanted to buy and I also want to save some money so I can revamp my room and add a mini-library there. heehee
This stray cat was filmed in Turkey( Kızılsaray district of Antalya ) trying to reanimate his female friend who got hit by a car. Even though some people tried to help him, the white cat wouldn’t let them come near for two straight hours.
I feel sad because of the helplessness of the white cat who tries all his best to do the right thing– to save the black cat’s life but it’s too late already. He also tried to protect the black cat from creatures whom he think might touch her and kill her. The white cat is very helpful, very protective and I feel happy for this trait.
But, a gruesome note I noticed about this event is that, this video shows that animals know how to be more human than human themselves. The human, who is more capable of thinking and of defining what is right from what is wrong, showed inferiority to this cat who came to rescue the cat’s life. This cat showed his care for the cat who is a victim of hit and run, a trait which obviously shows that the human suspect lacks. One might say that the mishap might just be an accident, but it still shows negligence, no matter which angle you choose to view it.
I wish that we creatures of the same, or even different kinds, would be more careful about other creature’s existence. I wish. I wish. It’s not too late to change for the good. Let’s all hope for it.
You go online, check your facebook, one new friend request, *excitement heats up*, and then you see the person who wants to be your friend in facebook, and suddenly the excitement turns into amazement because you don’t know who this person is and in what means on Earth does he have to find you in this big world of online social networking.

Facebook friend requests
I currently have 9 “friend” requests. Is it a reason to be happy or not? It depends.
While some people are busy adding both known and unknown friends in their social networking sites to later brag about their four digit number of friends, I perhaps is on the other side of the universe, choosing to prefer my profile as reachable as possible, but only to the ones I really knew.
Now this list of growing number of friend request seems like a one sided relationship because I don’t really know these people. I don’t even remember seeing them in real life. I don’t know whether to be confused or flattered or scared with those Facebook friend invitations I’m getting.
Here’s my take on adding a friend in Facebook, you must either know him/her or want to get to know him/her. If you two doesn’t know each other, you’ll mind writing on that provided space about a nifty introduction just before you hit the “add a friend” button so that your invitation won’t be put to waste, doesn’t it? But these people who add me, they don’t add anything, not even a hi or hello, do you still remember me? I’m your classmate from kindergarten.. things like that. No anything.
I don’t mind getting a few friend requests in Facebook. I can add you as long as I know you. I don’t particularly add people I don’t know because of privacy issues. So, if you know me and want to add me in Facebook, make sure to leave a little something for me because I assure you, I’m not just a snob without a reason at all.

Just like the first day he come home, he still, up to now, eats like he wants to munch the plate as well. Flounder is very energetic, playful and very sweet but there’s one problem about him, he pees and poos anywhere whenever he sets his foot inside the house. He’s just four months and counting. I think we can still teach him about this bad habit of his.
