But there are circumstances that you need to decide between practicality and idealism. So which will you choose? Your dream or the world that always asks you to fit in?

I say, dream high and try to always reach for that dream. Don't lose hope for sooner or later, you will eventually get that dream. Trust me. Persuasiveness always pays off. Always.

I watched Bolt at Disney Channel earlier and this scene hit me so well that I need to search for it online, word per word, and eventually write a blog about it so, here it is!

Rhino: Bolt! I can be a valuable addition to your team...
Bolt: I'm listening...
Rhino: I'm lightning quick, I have razor-sharp reflexes. Wha! And I'm a master of stealth.
[laughs]
Rhino: Plus, I'll keep the cat in check.
[Mittens rolls her eyes]
Bolt: [Gets down close to Rhino's ball] The road'll be rough.
Rhino: [indicates] I have a ball.
Bolt: There's no turnin' back.
Rhino: Guess I'll have to "roll" with the punches!
["surfs" his ball]
Bolt: Easy won't be part of the equation...
Rhino: Promise?
Bolt: I gotta warn ya, going into the belly of the beast - danger at every turn.
Rhino: [getting closer] I eat danger for breakfast!
Bolt: You hungry?
Rhino: [cracks neck] Starving!

-BOLT (2008)

Rhino sold his self in order to get a job (even if his self description was a little bit exaggerated, the performance would still depend on how he'll handle himself so it's just fine, I guess) Although it wasn't actually a job, it was something that Rhino passionately wants to do--to have adventures with Bolt. And it was something very inspiring. I admire his great passion and the courage to pursue it.

So damn hard. If people think that this is such an easy job, well think again because it is not.

Communication gap, misspelled words, misquotations, and other wrong informations are being fed up to us almost everyday. The writer's task is to deliver the message across clearly --no more, no less. That itself is a difficult objective so in considering your opinion about something you don't specifically know, be open and think of many angles because, we never know the real story behind those things unless we try it for ourselves.

As in to be a contributing writer for Supreme, the pop culture and entertainment section of The Philippine Star. We went to Dusit Hotel this afternoon to attend the open call for writers scheduled at 1 to 7 pm.

We don't know if we got in. They said they'll just contact us if we passed the initial screening which is composed of three 100-word essays about: 1) something that you believe in 2) a feature story about something inside your bag 3) a feature story about your friend who is present in the event.

And again, I was partnered with none other than Dianini. hehe. We're a match. We both wore florals for the event. Along with us were the pantsy kids, Jasmen and Sheena. hehe

I don't think I did well on that screening because I'm not focused since we are all doing our YADAAAA YADAAA's because we are reunited, once again. oh well. If we don't get in, at least we saw Tim Yap and Pepe Diokno. That's already a jackpot.

But then again, let's (or rather, I'll) just hope for a miracle, which by the way is my answer to the first question in the essay. heehee I'm still hoping that I would one of the lucky ones who'll get to be a contributor of Supreme because I really feel like the hand published in the newspaper, calls for me, as in literally and figuratively. hahaha

Don't stop believeing in the possibility of an impossible thing, that's my motto for today.

Yesterday, I was given the chance to have an interview with two companies. First is a news agency and the other is a learning center for Koreans.

The news agency interview is good as in so damn good. We even become so comfortable with each other that we almost forgot that we're in the middle of a job interview. The only catch there is that, the interview is not between me and the company itself, but between me and the recruitment agency of the company. But other than that, it was still a very nice experience talking with Ms. Janis of Manpower.

And then from Makati I went to Ortigas for my next interview and exam at Kaigen Keed. I love the training idea of the company! They said that if ever one will get hired, he or she will be given the opportunity to go and have a training at Korea for three months which definitely is exciting! I passed the English exam and all I need to do now is to wait if the Korean counterparts enjoyed my essay about the climates in Korea which is the basis for the employment.

Today, I also got the chance to go back to Citystate for the interview and exam for the copywriter position. This is actually the 7th job interview who gained another interview so technically, it would still fall under the 7th job interview category.

In the exam at this real estate company, I get to think on my toes about developing ideas for an advertisment. The gist of the job is actually exciting, to think that if ever that company will succeed in the next three years, I can proudly say that I am a part of the success of that company which would mean something big for me because even if my dream was to always be a reporter, the business voice inside me always tell me to imagine things about developing bright ideas for advertisments. What a lovely sight inside this gray matter of mine.

I'm happy even if I don't have any job offer as of this post because along the way of my jobhunting, I get to know more people and be more experienced about the real life that welcomed me right after graduation. It's hard to find a job, yes, but all it takes is a matter of changing angles and start seeing an optimistic view, which could always help in our road to satisfaction.

Juan: How's the interview?

Jane: *did not even looked at Juan to answer. not in the mood to answer anything related to her job hunting*

Juan: Hey. What happened? Why are you not answering?

Jane: You have the right to freedom of expression while I also have the right to remain silent.

Juan: WHAAAAAAT? :|

----

At some point, this conversation might look like a funny joke but viewing it from a different angle, it would seem like Jane is using her meanness skills to indirectly tell that she's not in the mood to say anything.

The whole scenario can change into something more comic if Jane responds after noticing Juan's reaction:

Jane: Just kidding. You know, I'm not in the mood to talk about it right now. Let's just talk about it later.

After Jane said that line, Juan may now have an idea as to why Jane reasoned out like that earlier was just an outburst ofher emotio and that she did a nice comeback by saying that it's a joke even if it is not, well, it is half-meant.

People can be mean sometimes, if the situation is becoming very stressful. But as much as possible, if you're the one having the bad mood that day, try your best not to be mean because you're not the only person who has problems. So practice being nice, and always smile because you never know who's life you're influencing with that smile in your face.

---

Some thoughts I have while on my way home, riding a bus full of passengers.

The interview earlier today went well. I seem more comfortable with my answers.Maybe it is because I did an extensive research beforehand. heehee My 8th interview is a sign that I'm improving with my job interviewing skills, I guess. I hope that my assessment is true.

In the interview, one of the interviewers (there are two of them) who, due to his amazement to my answer, told me that my answer in the "where do you think you will be 3 or 5 years from now?" question seemed to be weaved in the resume or some other source. Well, some points of my answer were of course affected by the materials I read online. It only means two things: 1) I'm a good absorber of knowledge and 2) I'm an indepth researcher. These characteristics fits the position I applied for their company: writer / jr. online marketing specialist.

It is first, in my entire list of interviews, for me to feel this sense of belongingness because of the qualities the position has to have, it all looks almost perfectly weaved with my skills and qualifications. I write articles, I sell items online, I research extensively. POOF. My skills are the mix of everything the job position calls for.

However, even if I feel that I am already a part of that company for these reasons, I should still do good in the up coming job interviews especially tomorrow wherein I'll have interview and exam for two companies. I can't put off the offer for some other time, because I might just blew my chance of a lifetime so I'll just take the risk instead of nothing at all. And besides, it's better to be always hopeful than worrisome.

When I come home, my dad asked me about the interview. This is something unusual because we're not close, we don't live on the same roof, and we just don't act like a father and daughter. When I told him that the interview and exam is fine, I did good, I think, and they said they'll just update me whenever I become shortlisted.

My dad replied, "They will not call you anymore. Don't expect. It means you did not get the job."

Oh boy. It blew me away. Instead of giving me sunshine, you're giving me ashes. Instead of giving me inspiration, you're giving me pessimism. But, I won't let you affect my feelings for I know that there are more important people around me who believes in my capabilities as a person and those people won't fool around me. Someday, you'll see. Everything you negatively said about me would be turn into dust because someday, I will make a change.

As much as possible, I want to maintain a positive outlook in life. But sometimes, some people just lets you down. Remember, if people do this to you, always do the sweetest revenge: Do your best and show them that you are not what everything they believe you to be. Show them what you've got. Aim for the moon. Don't EVER lose hope. Stand up. Start moving towards the ladder of success.

Like the saying goes, thosewho mind don't matter and those who matter, don't mind. Think positively and think of the common good.
